Supporting the Next Generation of Sustainable Investing Leaders

Sustainable investing leaders do not emerge from a single role or career path. Most develop perspective over time through learning, curiosity, conversation, and exposure to how sustainability shows up across industries.

Vert was proud to sponsor the 2026 Future of Sustainable Investing Conference at Brown University.

As a Certified B Corp, Vert tries to contribute to the broader community in practical ways. Supporting student learning and professional development is one example.

The conference brought together students, professionals, and speakers from a wide range of fields including real estate, insurance, food systems, entrepreneurship, and corporate governance. Students were able to hear how sustainability connects to everyday business decisions, long-term planning, operations, and investment thinking across sectors.

Student-led conferences tend to create different conversations than industry events. Students are more willing to ask honest and direct questions. They aren’t afraid to ask about what they don’t know!

More informal events like these create great opportunities for emerging professionals to ask better questions and connect with experienced practitioners. They give students a clearer sense that sustainability issues are not limited to one job or company, but are the foundation of how many industries think about risk, strategy, and long-term value.
